Social understanding 2

1. The first phase does not recognise different things in the surroundings as different.

2. Functional differences are recognised. The breast and the eyes of the mother.

3. Instinctive recognition of the other as different from the self, but still as a whole.

4. Things are still recognised as patterns, without any interpretation.

5. What is familiar, exists. What is not familiar, does not exist.

6. Persons and things have significance. They are symbols of action and influence.

7. Things that are not familiar are recognised as a danger.

8. Things and events are instinctively experienced as agreeable and not agreeable.

9. When I do this, something agreeable happens, when I do that, it's something disagreeable.

10. Actions that have positive effects are repeated, actions with negative effects are avoided.

11. The surroundings still form a whole.

12. The consciousness of the self is formed.

13. I can do something.

14. I can decide to do actions with positive effects.

15. Feelings of belonging, security, regular food... become conscious.

16. It is recognised, that learning can be done intentionally and organised.

17. One is bound in the cycle of sowing, planting and reaping.

18. It is accepted, that rules for the order of many events are evident. Truth governs things.

19. I can think about things, make plans and have my own opinion.

20. It is recognised, that there are all kind of cyclic events and processes.

21. I can take care of myself. I have to take care of myself and I am responsible.

22. I can ask or tell somebody to do something.

23. It is recognised, that the world consists of things that can be used another way.

24. It is recognised, that processes can be influenced.

25. It is recognised, that it is more efficient, when people make more than they need and exchange things.

26. Together we can do better. I cannot always do things my way.

27. It is recognised, that a common object of exchange is easy: money.

28. Working is seen as something negative, that should be paid for with money.

29. It is recognised that nature can give energy: water, wind.

30. It is recognised, that one can amass money and that money brings comfort and power.

31. Comfort and power are seen as happiness.

32. It is recognised by the rich, that they can amass more money when the others earn money also.

33. It is recognised, that it is better not to punish and take vangeance personally but to have laws and a central organisation.

34. A new way of describing and understanding comes up: rationality. It rules more than 2 centuries.

35. It is recognised, that the earth was created by energy and that the energy can be recovered.

36. Machines are invented that use this recovered energy for doing the work of people.

37. It is recognised, that matter consists of smaller particles than can be seen.

38. It is recognised, that matter can be transformed and that new substances can be made.

39. People don't want to obey authority any more and democracy develops.

40. People want to be free of rules. Freedom is the ideal.

41. One realises, that material growth is biggest where egoism can act freely.

42. One realises, that it is possible to buy agreement and political favor.

43. Democracy is ruled by economical expansion.

44. It is realised, that our world is a living system and that one has influence on it.

45. After disappointments and catastrophes people realise that money is not the main criterion for happiness.

46. It is recognised, that the causes for real happiness can often not be described with rationality.

47. Basic needs of security and belonging take over and the fitting circumstances gain more weight.

48. Living in a sound family, in a functioning group of people with similar interest... is preferred.

49. Churches defend old formal rules, that do not correspond with actual circumstances.

50. Intuition and openness recognise old and new rules, that are advantageous for the society.

51. The new rules are applied in the interest of long term health of humanity.

52. It is recognised, that the world is One, that without me, there is no world.

53. More and more people recognise, that the new rules are important for their children and grand children.

54. The new rules replace the old importance of wealth, power and expansion.

55. The situation in the different regions is being analysed and plans and time scales for the development are made up and steadily updated.

56. Well informed egoism and compassion seem to form a sensible unity.
