Educating Consciousness

My actions and reactions are mainly based on patterns in my brain, that are formed by evolution (both material causality and intelligence of the First Consciousness)... race, family, traditions, habits, training.

But the brain provides the possibility to use logic and logic enables us to leave the patterns of the brain and to do abstract thinking. Abstract thinking so is not an action of the brain, but an action of awareness. OK, based on the brain but not governed by the material side of the brain.

When awareness detects a subjectively new truth, it can talk about this truth, but the patterns of the brain are not used yet to practice it. The brain normally is bombing us with thoughts, based on the patterns. WE HAVE TO LEARN TO RECOGNISE THE THOUGHTS THAT ARE NOT IN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW CONVICTIONS OF OUR AWARENESS. (Sorry for shouting, I had to). That takes time, mostly much time... and that is normal.

Somebody who talks on a higher level than the level of his upcoming thoughts and actions has to train to use his/her awareness to form new patterns in the brain that are in agreement with awareness. That is: training to be aware of upcoming thoughts, seeing if they are OK, if not, saying: dear thought, you helped me in the past, but I don't need you any more... please go now. So not attacking the thought or being harsh. Thought could gain strength by doing that.
It is like not sending water to the part of the delta, in order to let the wind fill the sills. That way the brain will form patterns that are in agreement with the new convictions of our awareness. And the brain will be glad to provide them as not invited thoughts and emotional drive.

Quite a different thing is developing ones ability in a certain realm. There also it is possible to let the brain form new patters. So if a musician wants to play a piece without a fault, he/she has to create the necessary patterns in the brain. If he wants to be able to play from notes (or whatever that is called in good English), the patterns have to be much more refined and complex. But they are patterns. Thank you, dear patterns.

A good question is: How much of my life is based on patterns and how much on awareness? And, do I continue to look for truths in perspectives of a larger horizon?
